On March 13th, the Boys Volleyball Team hosted a scrimmage at HSTAT itself, for the very first time.
Because of the restrictions and requirements regulating school gyms participating in volleyball games, Tele hasn’t previously been able to use their gym as a home court. As a result, it is often necessary for the team to travel to other high schools to play home games.
Now, a large step forward has been taken to change that. For the first time in the school’s history, their scrimmage was played at home.
HSTAT hosted James Madison High School, suffering an unfortunate loss in an extremely close game that went all the way to set 3, falling short 27-25.
Despite this defeat, having a home game for the team is a great victory, and a noteworthy accomplishment.
This moment sparks the possibility for more home games to be played within the school, with its own crowd and atmosphere rather than sharing home with anyone else. If advancements continue to be made, it’s possible to see the school becoming the team’s future home court for all volleyball matches.
