Despite losing in the quarterfinals of the PSAL playoffs to the eventual champions, this past boys handball season was a huge success, going 14-0 in the 22-23 season and making it to the quarter finals.
The team has lost some fundamental pieces and players to get them that undefeated record, with seniors Bryan Fu, Jacky Gee, Kyle Doodnauth, and Mukhammaslatif Latpiov graduating.
When asking new captain of the handball team Diego Calixto about the season, Calixto voiced optimism about the season.
“The seniors this year have improved a lot, to the point that we’re gonna get to playoffs no problem. Our team now might even be better than last years team, but only time will tell the results this year will speak themselves”.
Coach Tavarez sees this as a year of “rebuilding and reloading”.
The boys season starts on the 26th of March against Fort Hamilton High School.
