The Senior Mentors is one of HSTAT’s many school programs led by Mrs. Plumb along with many other faculty staff; the program’s main goal is for the seniors of Telecommunications to help assimilate and acclimatize the new freshmen into the new school. This includes having workshops with them and planning indoor and outdoor activities for them, one of them being the field day at Owl Head.
So what exactly did these freshmen do? Our seniors helped prepare several fun events to which the freshmen would participate in. It was organized in a way where the freshmen would circulate around the park towards several stations. These activities included: music, art, word games, and sports.
To finish it off, the seniors and freshman concluded by having a lunch break in a picnic like setting and took a large group photo of the class cohort of 2024 and 2027 where they then left from Owl Head park after a long but fun day.
As someone who personally participated as a Senior Mentor, I can affirmatively say that while it was challenging for the seniors to help prepare, organize, and execute these games, it was very rewarding for this senior to see everyone having a good time.
