The Chess Club prides itself on having fun, learning, and playing chess every Tuesday between 2:30 to 3:45 P.M after school and is run by Mr. Wong, one of HSTAT’s science teachers. So why should you come to this club? Our team went and personally asked the teacher and students why they joined the club.

Hey everyone! If you’re reading this, I’m Raymond Shi, I am a 12th grade Senior at our HSTAT community, let’s go Class of 2024! I joined the Newspaper Elective during the Fall 2024 semester and I could not be happier to be a part of the journalism community at our school. I love hearing & reading stories and to now be able to hear everyone's different stories and opinions as well as cover school events is very exciting for me. I think that having a voice in any community is an important part of any person to have a sense of individuality. In my opinion, I think the Newspaper Class is the best way not only for journalists to report and incite their own thoughts, but to also give a chance for our students to say their opinions as well. I highly recommend that if you have the chance, I would put this class as one of your top for Electives! And what about me? My all time favorite hobby is to draw. I love being able to worldbuild by sketching characters and showing them off to my friends. I also really enjoy reading, writing, and binge watching shows and movies. You’ll often find me passing through the hallways but also going to the Chess Club, Art, and Theatre Workshops! That is all you need to know about me, I really hope that you enjoy reading the articles me, my peers, and Mr. Lewis is working very hard for our school website!
